Let´s Sail into the Night
Acrylic and oil on canvas
Size: 90x 110 cm excluding frame
I was born in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1971. The closeness to the sea has prevailed throughout my life and in my art. At the age of 11, I moved with my parents and three siblings to England where we had our family home for 15 years.
I attended the international college of St Clares in Oxford. This is where my love for painting began. I completed my Master of Arts at the University of St Andrews. During this time, I became convinced that painting was my passion and calling in life. In 1996, I moved to London and for a year at the Chelsea College of Art.
Not knowing how to start my career as a painter, I decided to move back to Gothenburg where I threw myself into the life of an artist in 1998. I have been painting and exhibiting full time since then. Mainly in Sweden but also with exhibitions in London, Europe and the USA.
I am a mother of two beautiful sons, Ruben and Orlando. My painting studios are located by the harbour in Långedrag, Gothenburg and in Palma de Mallorca.

A celebration of Life
As an artist, Viktoria concerns herself with the beauty of the ordinary – beauty in the world, beauty in nature and the beauty of the human body.
Her art reflects the eternal time and space that surrounds us all.
With loosely rendered paint, colour and an obvious presence of exposed canvas, she depicts skies, oceans, deserts, snowscapes and cityscapes.
These scenes often include figures; riders on horseback, people walking along a beach, skaters on a frozen lake. The figures interact with their surroundings.
They enjoy the spaces, celebrate them. Her works are about celebration.

About her series Organic paintings she says:
”I was ill for a period and was not able to paint.
Nature and forests around my home had a healing impact on my recovery and gave me inspiration for these paintings.
Blinking through the branches and the foliage I found forms and patterns that inspired me.”
